Developing leaders who operate from a foundation of the highest ethical standards is a strategic key to profitability and long-term sustainability. Milestone is a time for leaders to step out of the rush of everyday life in order to identify and solidify who they are and how they impact those they lead.

“My time spent attending the Milestone session at The Soderquist Center last week was transformational. In fact, I can say it was the most impactful leadership training experience of my life, thus far. Going through this experience truly gave me a better understanding of myself as a leader, including both my strengths and my struggles. While I’ve always lived and led according to values, last week gave me a great deal more clarity and understanding of how these values define me as a leader. ”

Testimonial

My time spent attending the Milestone session at The Soderquist Center last week was transformational.

Having been through the experience, we’re asked to create personal action plans, including what we want to keep, stop, and start. Mine are as follows:

• Keep – I have stronger convictions than ever about staying true to my core values in all situations. These values define me as a leader, and are essential not only to my success, but also to my impacting the world around me in a positive way. These core values are authenticity, loyalty, compassion, harmony, trust, and faith.

• Stop – The ropes course brought me face-to-face with my staggering fear of failure. The fear I experienced on the ropes had nothing to do with physical injury, and everything to do with the potential humiliation of failing. I need to stop allowing this fear to impede me from enjoying new challenges.

• Start – As I reject a fear of failure, I must begin embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and confidence. With the support of others, I can complete the most challenging of tasks.

While I’ve focused my attention on the professional impact of this experience, I will also share that it impacted me as a man in my personal life. Again, while I’ve always lived my life according to values and ethics, I truly find myself viewing the purpose and impact of my life choices in a different way.
